The three sat together, hours after Charlie's life was saved
They watched the stars and thought about the trials they had endured...

That night on the hill his pain finally left him,
And he could have sworn he saw his son among the countless stars

Clyde got drunk that night.
He stared at the pendant of his perfect mother.
For the longest time, he refused to admit it, but it was true.

It took a couple of bottles, but he could finally admit it.
He never met his father, and his "perfect" mother didn't exist.

And Charlie... He took so long to work up the courage to do that,
Only for it to be ruined at the last second.

Was it his fault?
After years of cowardice, he was going to confess-
And he ran her over on the way to her house.

I'll probably never know where she disappeared

Whether the pain was old or new,
The three sat and dwelt on the past.
Together they mended their wounds,
And moved on into the future.
